Miley Cyrus captivates fans with her upcoming album ‘Something Beautiful,’ featuring 13 original tracks and a visual film that showcases a unique fashion narrative.

Miley Cyrus is set to captivate fans with the release of her highly anticipated new album, “Something Beautiful,” scheduled to debut on May 30th. This marks her ninth studio album, promising a rich experience featuring 13 original tracks accompanied by a visual film. The film is co-directed by Cyrus along with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, with additional cinematography by Benoît Debie.

In a notable collaboration, Cyrus continues to work closely with her longtime stylist, Bradley Kenneth, to shape a distinctive fashion narrative that aligns with her music. The visual album aims to initiate a new fashion era for the pop superstar, a choice that reflects her longstanding tradition of using clothing as a crucial part of her artistic expression. “The fashion direction is always inspired by Miley and the music,” Kenneth explained in an interview with Vogue. He characterized the style as embodying “a richness and depth that feels both modern and timeless,” emphasizing the synergy between the music and the visual styling.

The fashion concepts for “Something Beautiful” began taking shape as Cyrus was recording in the studio. Kenneth often joins her during these sessions to immerse himself in the creative atmosphere, which triggers his imagination for the visual looks. As the project progressed, Cyrus and Kenneth focused on the cinematic elements of the album, turning to archival fashions from notable designers such as Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Bob Mackie to enhance its ethereal and otherworldly themes.

Kenneth highlighted the diverse historical influences present in the fashion choices for the project. “The looks in this project span such a wide range of fashion history,” he stated, noting the relevance of the selected designers who have significantly influenced Cyrus’s style over the years. He mentioned that the incorporation of pieces from Bob Mackie’s dramatic aesthetic and Mugler’s bold silhouettes have continually shaped Cyrus’s evolving fashion narrative.

A particularly significant aspect of the project involves a remarkable collaboration with the Mugler team. Kenneth noted they hold “the record for the largest collection of Mugler archives ever sent to a single individual,” which he described as “surreal.” For the album cover, Cyrus showcases Mugler’s innovative “Spider” look from the designer’s spring 1997 couture collection titled “Les Insects.” Kenneth elaborated on the inspiration behind this piece: “Manfred was inspired by the way morning dew glistens on a spiderweb,” explaining how it beautifully marries concepts of fragility and strength, making it a fitting choice for this artistic endeavor.

As fans await the release of “Something Beautiful,” anticipation continues to grow surrounding both the musical and visual elements that Miley Cyrus promises to deliver.
