Targovishte: The Youth House launches the thirteenth Eco-Fantasies competition, inviting students to creatively repurpose waste into art. Participants can compete in three age categories, with entries due by 11 April, promoting recycling and imaginative expression among the youth.

The Youth House in Targovishte has launched a creative initiative encouraging children and young people to repurpose waste and unwanted materials for the thirteenth edition of the “Eco-Fantasies” competition. The theme for this year’s event is “Make the Unwanted – Wanted,” as stated by the cultural institution.

Students of all ages are invited to participate, divided into three categories: from first to fourth grade, from fifth to seventh grade, and from ninth to twelfth grade. Participants can enter either as individuals or in groups. The organisers emphasised that the creations should predominantly be made from recyclable materials, with the inclusion of natural materials also permitted. The Youth House encourages the public to recycle and create eco-fantasies.

The leadership of the Youth House explained that the initiative aims to promote creative recycling among young people, stimulate imagination, and provide opportunities for self-expression.

Entries must be submitted to the Youth House in Targovishte by 11 April. At the end of the month, a jury will assess and award the participants. Judging criteria will include the originality of the concept, creativity and environmental considerations, as well as execution. An exhibition will display all the submitted works.

In the previous year, the traditional creative initiative “Eco-Fantasies” received 117 individual and 24 collective entries, according to reports from the Bulgarian News Agency.
