Los Angeles: Acclaimed actress Dakota Fanning dazzled at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, showcasing exquisite vintage-inspired outfits. While she did not win for Best Supporting Actress, her glamorous style and joyful presence made a lasting impression alongside co-star Andrew Scott at the star-studded event.

Dakota Fanning, an acclaimed actress known for her impressive body of work, showcased a stylish array of vintage-inspired looks during the 2025 Critics Choice Awards and the after-party that followed at the renowned Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Friday, February 7. The event celebrated both film and television, and while Fanning did not take home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television, she exuded joy and elegance throughout the evening.

The 30-year-old actress first made an impression on the red carpet in a stunning mint-green mermaid gown. The corseted design, which featured strapless styling and emphasised her neckline, was paired beautifully with a chunky diamond necklace, featuring a large pendant that accentuated the overall glamour of her look. Fanning’s piercing blue eyes were highlighted with dark eyeliner and mauve eyeshadow, adding a contemporary touch to her vintage aesthetic.

Later in the evening, while stepping out for a celebratory night, Fanning donned a salmon pink satin dress, perfectly embodying retro style that has resurfaced in modern celebrity wardrobes. Completing her outing look, she wrapped a dark blazer over her shoulders, added strappy heels, and carried a small black handbag. Her blonde locks flowed effortlessly over her shoulders, and she opted for minimal makeup, enhancing her natural beauty.

Fanning was joined by her “Ripley” co-star Andrew Scott, who was equally fashionable in similarly hued attire. Scott wore a dapper ensemble with white trousers and a blush pink shirt under a matching satin blazer. His slip-on suit shoes added a polished finish to his red carpet look, echoing the retro sensibilities that have influenced current celebrity fashion.

The Critics Choice Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, recognised outstanding achievements in film and television, with Dakota and Andrew both nominated for their roles in the series “Ripley,” which is a thrilling adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s classic novel. Speaking to E! News on the red carpet, Dakota reminisced about her enchanting time at the Golden Globes prior, where she celebrated with her sister Elle and their grandmother. She described it as a “beautiful night” and spoke with fondness about her family’s presence at the event.

Despite her nomination, Dakota lost the award to Jessica Gunning for her role in the Netflix drama “Baby Reindeer,” while Andrew’s performance was eclipsed by Colin Farrell’s winning portrayal in “The Penguin.” The ceremony had been delayed multiple times due to local fires, yet it ultimately brought together a star-studded lineup, including A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Zoe Saldaña, and Demi Moore, making it a significant evening in the Hollywood calendar.

In addition to the fashion showcased at the event, it highlights the continuous influence of vintage styles on modern celebrity wardrobes. Fashion historians and stylists observe how past eras significantly shape contemporary looks, offering a blend of classic elegance with modern flair. This intertwining of old and new is a powerful testament to the resurgence of retro aesthetics in today’s pop culture, as seen through the glamorous choices of celebrities during significant events like the Critics Choice Awards.
