The couple attended the prestigious event on March 2, which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
Benny Blanco, 37, openly admitted, “I looked like a slob,” discussing the images from the red carpet. He wore a white suit with a matching coat that did not seem to complement Selena’s stunning attire. The 32-year-old actress turned heads in an off-the-shoulder rose gold gown designed by Ralph Lauren, which was a centerpiece of the evening due to its intricate details, featuring over 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals.
Gomez’s dazzling dress was a feat of craftsmanship, taking 12 artisans to create. Benny highlighted the physical demands of her outfit, stating, “First of all, the dress is 35lbs! She’s carrying a 35lb dress and her heels are eight inches high.” The logistics of arriving at the event were complex, with Benny sharing that Selena had to stand in a moving bus while her styling team made last-minute alterations, saying, “They were sewing her into the dress while we’re moving.”
Selena’s gown was styled by Molly Dickinson and drew inspiration from classic Hollywood icon Sophia Loren. The actress worked closely with Loren’s tailor to customize the gown, marking her debut appearance at the Academy Awards with her film ‘Emilia Pérez’, which received nominations in multiple categories.
